The State Barrier Fence of Western Australia, formerly known as the No. 1 Rabbit-proof Fence, the State Vermin Fence and the Emu Fence, is a pest-exclusion fence constructed between 1901 and 1907 to keep rabbits and other agricultural pests, from the east, out of Western Australia pastoral areas.

The camp area in Varley is very small perhaps 2 vans, how ever I am sure the street would be okay as an over flow area. Rest area complete with electric BBQ and flush dunny. Tap water in the shed near the BBQ. Donation box on site.

Now what's this cord in the tree?
Some one had thrown a hammer into the tree, for what ever reason escapes us. With a bit of juggling, ladder and poles, managed to get the cord released and the hammer to HAND.

Majestic trees in their day and some stories to tell!

Willow Springs - tried a short cut to find track closed, best to follow the main tracks / roads around here and not use the fire access trails especially with a large caravan.
What we thought was in the middle of no where, along comes Brad, riding the Munda Biddi Trail
Munda Biddi Trail is a 900 km long distance bicycle trail in Western Australia. "Munda Biddi" means 'path through the forest' in the Noongar language.
The trail commences in Mundaring and meanders through scenic river valleys and the magnificent eucalypt forests of the State’s South West. It utilises a network of bush tracks, firebreaks and disused railway formations and has sections suitable for cyclists of all ages and experience levels. Situated a comfortable day’s ride apart are purpose-built Munda Biddi campsites with camp huts and tent sites.
It runs generally to the west of the Bibbulmum Track walking track. Recent government funding has allowed for the trail to be extended to Albany and this is expected to be completed 2011-2012. Once completed the trail will run for almost 1100 km.

Wave Rock is a natural rock formation that is shaped like a tall breaking ocean wave and forms the north side of a solitary hill, which is known as "Hyden Rock." This hill, which is a granite inselberg, lies about 3 km east of the small town of Hyden and 296 km east-southeast of Perth Western Australia. Wave Rock and Hyden Rock are part of a 160-hectare nature reserve, Hyden Wildlife Park.
A wall lies above Wave Rock and about halfway up Hyden Rock and follows the contours of the wall. It collects and funnels rainwater to a storage dam. They were constructed in December 1928 by the Public Works department for the original settlers of East Karlgarin District. Both were renovated in 1951 to increase water capacity for the Hyden Township. Such walls are common on many similar rocks in the Wheatbelt.
Impressive rock formation once again, BUT__________
Now why would you have a RABBIT Cemetery out here? Well it's a tourist attraction along with the Mosaic Garden, other wise why would you stop in Varley - Population 8.
